Transmitting Torah

In 1922, a young German author named Franz Rosenzweig published an extraordinary book of Jewish philosophy called The Star of Redemption. How he wrote this book is, in itself, an incredible story. He began to write it from the Balkan front during the World War I, where he was serving with an anti-aircraft unit of the Kaiser’s army. Can you imagine writing down a very deep, philosophical treatise on army postcards while listening for the sound of attacking airplanes?
