25 Hours

Chanting, learning and turning our hearts towards new opportunities. That all happened in a room in the Toronto Quaker House as Renewalniks filled a beautifully adorned sanctuary space for the first ever Ha’sadeh https://www.instagram.com/hasadeh.to/?__d=1utm_sourceig_embed High Holiday services. At one point in the Yom Kippur service we were asked to turn to someone we didn’t know and ask why they had come. My partner was a single mother of a four year old who grew up in Montreal. Her answer, “I came to the Rosh Hashanah service and realized that this was the Judaism I had been waiting for my whole life. Embodied and so spiritual.” I came to this task of leading Aleph Canada because I had posted a comment on Facebook in January bemoaning the fact that I could find Renewal energy in the U.S. but in Toronto and the surrounding area, with the largest Jewish population in the country I could find very little. Well I m so happy to report that with the birth fo Ha’Sadeh the future looks bright. My deep appreciation and blessings to all those that created such a heartfelt and beautifully curated High Holiday experience. Truthfully so many gave of themselves that I can’t be sure that I would’’t leave somebody out. Suffice to say, Kol Hakavod! The next gathering is on October 10th https://dinners.onetable.org/events/c4339a5a-c125-4350-b2ba-320d9009260b?description&id&type.
